Besides the fact that the town of Kankakee voted for its first African-American mayor in history, two other towns will now be run by Democrats. Elgin will be run exclusively by Democrats, while West Deerfield now has a majority of Democrats – no Democrat has held a seat in West Deerfield in over 100 years.
