America has never before heard someone so ignorantly hypocritical as Kellyanne Conway.
She proved that yet again on Fox News this week, where she appeared on Justice with Judge Jeanine. Even though the topic was supposed to be about a perceived bi-partisan unity following Trump’s strike on Syria, Kellyanne decided to brag about how Neil Gorsuch was confirmed to the Supreme Court. She cited that Mitch McConnell kept the seat open for almost a year to make sure a Republican president could make the nomination, despite the fact that it was a clear violation of the Constitution.
Then Kellyanne proved her unashamed hypocrisy by saying that this did – what Mitch McConnell’s unprecedented obstructionism did – was expose the Democrat’s obstructionism. Of course she was talking about the fact that the Democrats filibustered Gorsuch’s nomination – a tool meant to ensure bi-partisan support for high-court justices. (Of course we all know that McConnell then pull the trigger on the so-called “nuclear option,” forever damaging the Supreme Court by making it susceptible to hyper-partisanship. Way to go, McConnell).
That we now have for the first time since 2006 – eleven years – we have a Republican-presidential nominee confirmed to the United States Supreme Court is simply remarkable. It will impact generations. And McConell kept that seat open, and he shepherded Judge Gorsuch through – he is now United States Supreme Court Justice Gorsuch – in a way that brought his conference together, but also exposed the Democrats for being this party of obstructionists and resisters.
If you haven’t gotten sick yet, Kellyanne goes on to say that Republicans “want their help.”
