Mike Pence Shocker: What he wants taught to your children in public schools is pathetic. And frightening.

As Donald Trump’s approval job rating continues to stagnate around the 35 to 38 percent ballpark, the word “impeachment” is increasingly being tossed around. In the last 8 weeks alone, this president has taken this nation on a roller coaster of a ride via: War Games with North Korea, Charlottesville, Transgender Military Ban, “The Mooch,” etc. Of course RUSSIA still looms. Trump biographer Michael D’Antonio predicts that impeachment is a non-issue as he thinks this president will simply resign — quit before he’s fired.

But there is the disquieting matter of succession. With the exception of that obstinate 35-38 percent of folks, most are in agreement that we are living under the single most dysfunctional presidency of all time.  So, sure, we want Trump gone. Post-haste. Unless something radical should happen in the interim, Trump’s departure would leave us saddled with a President Pence. While Mike Pence probably wouldn’t attempt to legislate via twitter, there is plenty to be concerned about.

In addition to his notorious homophobia, staunch Pro-Life position, the bizarre way that he calls his wife “Mother” — his religious beliefs put him directly in the Young Earth camp. Pence is indeed a creationist. Delivering an impassioned speech on the House floor in 2002, Pence posited the “evolution is only a theory” rhetoric, and declared that “intelligent design” should be taught to children as a scientific alternative with equal weight.

Mike Pence said, “I believe that God created the known universe, the earth and everything in it, including man,” Pence said. “And I also believe that someday scientists will come to see that only the theory of intelligent design provides even a remotely rational explanation for the known universe.” He continued, “I would simply and humbly ask, can we teach it as such and can we also consider teaching other theories of the origin of species?”

What Pence probably thought was going to be a home run of a closing was, “Like the theory that was believed in by every signer of the Declaration of Independence. Every signer of the Declaration of Independence believed that men and women were created and were endowed by that same Creator with certain unalienable rights. The Bible tells us that God created man in his own image, male and female. He created them.”

Please join me in asking the Good Lord to implicate Mike Pence in the Russia collusion situation. Somehow. Please.
