Something’s wrong with you if this headline doesn’t make you do a double take…
You read that correctly, folks. Donald Trump went out of his way to label the nation of Qatar a terrorism funder, praised other nations in the middle east who have cut ties with Qatar (including Egypt and Saudi Arabia), then turns around days later to authorize a mind-blowing, YUGE sale of weapons to them.
Watch Trump’s statement here:
$12 of the $21 billion is for the purchase of 36 new fighter jets, the portion of the deal that was signed on Wednesday. The Defense Minister of Qatar made the following statement:
“We are pleased to announce today the signing of the letter of offer and acceptance for the purchase of the F-15QA fighter jets, with an initial cost of $12 billion dollars. We believe that this agreement will propel Qatar’s ability to provide for its own security while also reducing the burden placed upon the United States military in conducting operations against violent extremism.”
He then tweeted out the following:

According to CBS, our own state department justified the sale by saying it underscores the efforts of the United States to “strengthen the security and defense architecture of the region,” adding they believe the sale does not conflict with the “current regional dispute,” because it will take years to complete the sale.
