Yes, this moron really does lead a “Bible Study” for Trump. And yes, he really did say this.
To make things even worse, up two twelve members of Trump’s cabinet attend these “sessions,” as The Independent calls them.
This guy’s name is Ralph Drollinger, and we learned last week that he is holding weekly Bible studies by way of CBN, who of course calls the activity a “spiritual awakening.” [Never mind that Donald Trump is clearly has no desire to understand or emulate the teachings of Jesus. And he is easily one of the most blatantly immoral human beings walking the earth right now. If you need a friendly reminder, right below here is Trump announcing his ignorance of Biblical basics on the campus of Liberty University, a conservative “Christian” school that is anything but…that’s a story for another day.]
Drollinger commented on the largely evangelical Trump cabinet, saying, “These are godly individuals that God has risen to a position of prominence in our culture.” According to CBN, the regular attendees include Jeff Sessions and Betsy DeVos.
The Los Angeles Times did their homework on Drollinger, and was able to remind America about some horrifying statements he made just a few years ago. And let’s not mince words – this is both anti-American and un-Christian. Here’s what Drollinger and the LA Times had to say:
“It is one thing for a mother to work out of her home while her children are in school,” wrote Drollinger, a Californian who created a group called Capitol Ministries to teach evangelical interpretations of the Bible to politicians. “It is quite another matter to have children in the home and live away in Sacramento for four days a week. Whereas the former could be in keeping with the spirit of Proverbs 31, the latter is sinful.”
At the time, the commentary caught the attention of the legislative women’s caucus, where several members expressed mortification at what they flatly labeled Drollinger’s misogynistic teachings. State lawmakers protested by wearing aprons in chambers.
Rep. Judy Chu (D-Monterey Park), who was serving in the state Legislature at the time, said in an email Wednesday that she is alarmed to see Drollinger is now counseling the most powerful people in the Trump administration.
“I was a member of the California Assembly when Mr. Drollinger told the women legislators with children at home that they were sinners, and I remember the disbelief we had that someone would say such a thing in the modern era,” Chu wrote. “This administration already has a deeply troubling record of policy and speech that harms women, and so it’s concerning that this is the ideology the president and vice president hand-picked to help influence the thinking of the heads of our government.”
Just remember – the same women who are “sinning” are the ones Trump wants to grab by the p*ssy. Disgusting.
