Still in the middle of a tumultuous week of campaign flubs, Trump has cranked up his terrible rhetoric, continues to defy Republican leadership, and refuses to comply with calls for simple things like his tax return. It looks like the Republican establishment has taken notice.
With growing fears over a party split, ABC news reported this morning that top GOP minds are discussing what would happen should Trump exit the race. Here is what they reported:
- Trump must leave on his own accord – no forcing him to drop out.
- In what would surely be a heated and complicated process, the voting members of the Republican National Convention would choose his replacement.
- In order to ensure enough states would carry the replacement candidate, this process would need to happen within the next month.
This is all happening amidst reports that the RNC Chairman has had discussions about the state of Trumps campaign.
