Former adviser to President Donald Trump and controversial conservative radio host  Steve Bannon sharply criticized former Attorney General Bill Barr for testifying against his former boss to the House Jan. 6 select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riot.

Bannon called Barr an “establishment scumbag” and a “liar,” during an episode of his podcast “Bannon’s War Room” earlier this week and accused Barr of lying in his testimony and helping to “directly destroy the Trump movement.”

He continued:

“We take this very seriously because 13 or 14 generations of this country have sacrificed to hand us the Republican we have, and we’re not going to be blown off by someone like Bill Barr. Bill Barr, we’re coming for you, bro.”

The House select committee’s hearings on what led to the riot  of Jan. 6, 2021, saw a number of people close to Trump, including many former aides and advisors and even his own daughter Ivanaka all denying Trump’s claims that he won the 2020 presidential election.

Bannon was referring to Barr’s statements in the hearing:

“My opinion then and my opinion now is that the election was not stolen by fraud. And I haven’t seen any since the election that changes my mind on that.”

Bannon, who was at one time Trump’s chief strategist in the White House, strongly called out Barr for saying that his Justice Department could not find any evidence of widespread voter fraud after the 2020 election.

Bannon continued by threatening Barr with litigation after they “deconstruct” his statements countering Trump’s election fraud claims:

“Bill Barr, you’ll go down in infamy. We’re going to deconstruct this, we’re going to rub your nose in it and then we’re going to come after you legally. We’re not just going to sit here anymore.”
