Ginni Thomas, conservative activist and wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, urged lawmakers in Arizona to reject the winning votes of Joe Biden in favor of Donald Trump electors in the 2020 Presidential election, according to recently uncovered emails obtained by The Washington Post.

The post revealed communications between Ginni Thomas and Arizona House Speaker Russell Bowers, and state Rep. Shawnna Bolick, who was serving on the House elections committee at the time and is currently running for secretary of state in Arizona. The emails showed Thomas arguing that legislators had to intervene to counter fraud claims that have been proven bogus.

On Nov. 9, 2020, Thomas wrote to Bowers and Bolick, saying  “Stand strong in the face of political and media pressure,” adding that the choice of electors was “yours and yours alone … to fight back against fraud.”

The message was sent through an online platform allowing users to send pre-written form emails to several elected officials at the same time. The emails show that Thomas was deeply involved in the efforts to overturn the election loss of former President Donald Trump to Joe Biden.

The email also read:

“Article II of the United States Constitution gives you an awesome responsibility: to choose our state’s Electors,” read the Nov. 9 email. “… [P]lease take action to ensure that a clean slate of Electors is chosen.”

Thomas also sent an email to Bowers and Bolick on Dec. 13, the day before the Electoral College certified Biden’s victory:

“Before you choose your state’s Electors…consider what will happen to the nation we all love if you don’t stand up and lead.”

Thomas also wrote to Trump’s White House chief of staff Mark Meadows following the election, encouraging him to do everything he could to overturn Biden’s victory and keep Trump in the White House, according to text messages obtained by the press.

Thomas herself was a staunch supporter of Trump and was in attendance at the the Jan. 6 “Stop the Steal” rally that led to the Capitol attacks of Jan. 6, 2021.  Thomas left before Trump spoke and any violence occurred at the Capitol.

She has been very vocal in her criticism of the congressional investigation into the Capitol attacks, even signing onto a letter to Republicans in the House calling for the expulsion of Reps. Liz Cheney (R. WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R. Il)  for joining the congressional committee investigating the attacks.
